A rare moment I think of dreamwidth first

It appears to have been around 4 years (apart from some personal private journalling) since I did An Post.
Four years is a lot to catch up on.
The contract I mentioned in the last one went so well I now own a house and have ended up permanently working for the agents that placed me. I'm close to five years sober. I remain single after the breakup with H but still providing some parental support for B who named me "Step Dad" sometime back.
I've had new niblings appear which is a gratifying experience every time.
I'd logged in here to have a moan about some stuff that happened over the last couple of weeks as it's unlikely anyone even peripherally involved would see it, but catching up on the few people who actually use dreamwidth still has been nice enough that I don't feel like doing that anymore.
Life is good in general. I'm looking forward to seeing if the potential obliteration of the Tories this week will be as complete as can be hoped for.
How are you doing?

Date: 2024-07-01 03:49 pm (UTC)I see you around elsenet, and don't post much here, but it's always nice to say hello.
GP texted me on Friday to say while my iron levels are improving it hasn't been as much as expected, and a link to book a phone consultation would follow. Has it followed? No, so now it's down to my lack-of-executive-function ass to arrange one. *sigh* It's a bit late now, I'll try and remember to ring up tomorrow.
M's in his last year at primary school, and had a full-day at his new secondary school today - seemed to go OK!

Date: 2024-07-01 03:54 pm (UTC)Hope the executive function emerges! I've currently got a small list of Things You Should Regularly But Infrequently Do thats been sitting around since *checks notes* January. My goal is to achieve at least one this year :)
I do need to visit Cambs again sometime. I'm meant to be planning something around my 45th but *my* ass is also lacking executive function...

Date: 2024-07-01 11:14 pm (UTC)I'm generally doing really well. I remain very happily married to Ramesh, coming up to five years, and fifteen(!) together. I'm still living with him and Robert Jones, just round the corner from where you used to live the time before last that I saw you. I've realised that I have a vocation to the priesthood, but at the moment the CofE won't ordain people in same sex marriages, so that's all a bit up in the air. I'm currently still working as a self-employed data analyst in the HE sector, but my current contract, which ends in a few weeks, will be my last for a while, as I'm about to start a theology degree in Leuven, Belgium, this September.
